Peacock Alley Yoga
Peacock Alley Yoga is a mobile yoga studio based out of Dalton, Georgia. Michelle and Jordan Brown, husband and wife owners and collaborators, wanted to bring their love and yoga and the community of Dalton together to make the practice of yoga more accessible. After years of practice, they decided to make their dream a reality and open a mobile studio that can travel to various spots around the Dalton, Georgia community and offer classes at a reasonable price in order for the community that they have grown up in to experience the mental and physical benefit of the practice of yoga. Peacock Alley Yoga will offer various types of yoga and tabata classes. The classes at G1 Martial Arts, and the Mack Gaston Community Center will be open to the public at the rate of $7 per class. They currently offer Yin Yoga, Mindful Yoga, Follow the Yogi, and Tabata classes on the schedule. We are working hard to add more instructors and classes to the schedule for your convenience!
Yin Yoga is a calm and relaxing practice that allows the participant to ease into poses using his or her breath and hold them for a period of 1-2 minutes to relax into a stretch and allow the fascia tissues of the body to release and increase circulation and blood flow.
Mindful Yoga is a practice encouraging the participant to follow a slower paced yoga flow to strengthen and lengthen the body while focusing on the breath. The syncing of breath to movement is the key to success. Your instructor will be there to assist you as you go on a beautiful journey into your body to breathe and move.
Follow the Yogi is a yoga instructor's choice. This class could be a Yin class, a Mindful class, a power yoga class, whatever the instructor feels is his or her best style.
Tabata is a high intensity interval training class that is sure to give the participant a great workout. The format of the class is 20 seconds of work followed by 10 seconds of rest for 8 rounds and then a 1 minute break. The class consists of 8 sections of 8 rounds each with a 1 minute break in between each section. This type of class is suitable for all skill levels! Be prepared to move your body in every direction!
